Shannon Barbaro

Owner, Educator & LAB Method™ Creator

Shannon Barbaro didn't find Pilates in a trend. She found it on a physical therapy table — rebuilding her body after years of competitive figure skating and a high-pressure career in the tech world. That experience of breaking down and building back smarter became the philosophy behind everything she does.

With over 25 years of practice and more than a decade of teaching, Shannon is a comprehensively certified Balanced Body instructor — trained at the highest level of classical Pilates education at a time when most studios are cutting corners for convenience. But credentials alone don't define her. What defines her is what she does with them.

Shannon specializes in the puzzles other people can't solve — tech neck, chronic pain, postural imbalances, pelvic floor recovery, and the complex shifts that come with perimenopause and midlife transitions. She works hand in hand with physical therapists throughout Ventura to create individualized Pilates prescription plans, treating the body as a system, not a symptom.

As a NASM-certified personal trainer and gut and hormone health integrative nutritionist, she doesn't just address how you move — she addresses why your body feels the way it does and what it actually needs to heal, strengthen, and thrive.

She is the creator of The LAB Method™ and Pilates Biohacking™ — two signature frameworks that merge evidence-based movement science, biomechanics, breath, and cutting-edge biohacking technology into something the wellness world hasn't seen before.

As a Pilates educator, Shannon runs the Apprentice LAB workshop series, training the next generation of instructors in the art of teaching Pilates the right way. She is also the co-owner of The Wellness Wagon, a wellness events company alongside her colleague Kimmy Braget — because her vision has always extended beyond the studio walls.
